Little Actors Club Theatre Workshop

Triveni Kala Sangam in association with Feisal Alkazi's Little Actors Club presents  "THEATRE CLASSES FOR CHILDREN".

This workshop is a training programme for theatre for children from age 10 to 15
years, run by Feisal Alkazi and his team of experts in the field of performing Arts.
These 30 sessions will include movement and improvisational work, music and
elocution, creative writing, art-based activities and mask making which will culminate
in a theatre production at Triveni. The children will be exposed to all elements
involved in the staging of a performance including backstage and onstage skills.
Through the whole process children gain in self-confidence, self-expression and
group interaction putting them in touch with their own creativity. The size of each
group is limited, so that each child gets individual attention. At the end of the three
months each child will get a certificate of participation.

Feisal Alkazi is a man of no mean resources for kids and theatre. His latest play has a star cast of 102 child actors. The uniqueness of the play is that in the entire cast, 85 kids are physically challenged.

Feisal Alkazi is an educationist, a theatre director, and an activist. Over the past 40 years, his group, Ruchika, has directed over 200 plays in Hindi, English, and Urdu. Noor and A Quiet Desire, two plays written by him, were produced recently. He has also directed thirty films, and more than 100 productions for schools all over India. He is actively involved in heritage education, initiating projects in Delhi, Jaipur, Srinagar, and Hyderabad each of which has culminated in a book. He has written over 20 books.

 

Gayatri Rattan
Gayatri has been a theatre practioner for the last 20 years. An actor, voice and
speech instructor, she has been a member of the Ruchika theatre group and a
facilitator with Little Actors Club under the tutelage of veteran theatre personality
Feisal Alkazi since 1997. She has assisted and directed many children’s
productions.
She is a certified speech and drama teacher from the Julia Gabriel centre for
learning, has done a course in acting from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts
and conducted drama workshops in various schools in Delhi and Gurugram. Besides

acting she is water colourist and has a keen interest in child and adolescent mental
health.
Previously working with The British School as a drama teacher and a LAMDA
(London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) trainer she has participated in
FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) Drama and ISTA
(International School Theatre Association) workshops.

Charges:

The charges per child are Rs. 12,000 for a three-month period from 13th April to mid August.
Classes will be held twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 to 5 pm
