Palimpsest of the Soul
Triveni Gallery presents Palimpsest of the Soul, a solo exhibition of paintings by Dipendranath Pal, curated by Georgina Maddox.
Drawing from the ageing architecture of North Kolkata, Pal’s abstract paintings explore the layers of history, memory and identity embedded in weathered walls, crumbling façades and timeworn surfaces. Working with acrylics, impasto and locally sourced materials, the artist transforms the physical traces of time into meditations on the self, memory and forgetting.
